English, left wing-back at Bristol Rovers. He started for the U23s on numerous occasions in the 2019/20 season as a 17-year-old and made his first team debut in the pre-season friendly against Swansea City.  A very fit and athletic footballer, Sam was once highly-rated as a 400 metre runner. He is a second-year scholar in the current 2020/2021 season and has again played up the age groups for the U23s. He scored a 25-yard goal on the run for the U18s in the FA Youth Cup in December 2020. He has been offered a one-year professional contract to cover the 2021/22 seasons, which Rovers will spend in EFL League 2, following their relegation. Sam is a second year pro, who suffered a serious LCL injury in pre-season of the 2021/22 season. He made his comeback in late January 2022, and went on loan to Southern League Salisbury Town until the end of that season. He was given a 6-month contract extension in summer 2022, to help him recover from his injury. He played 45 minutes in the first pre-season game away at Melksham Town in summer 2022, as well as against Swansea City, and he travelled with the first team squad to their Portugal camp and was involved in the squad for the first game of the season. Sam has been on loan again to Southern League Premier side, North Leigh, prior to Christmas 2022 and his release from Bristol Rovers
